Are you an Indigo?

In every lifetime we witness people making significant changes that impact humanity. The term ‘lightworker’ is often used to describe people who are working to bring about a spiritual shift and is commonly used in the mind, body and spirit community. If you are in your mid-thirties or younger you may be a part of the lesser known Indigo generation who are starting to rise up and make their presence felt.

Do you feel like you don’t fit in no matter where you go or which community you join?

Do you struggle to maintain deep and lasting friendships with people your own age?

Are you often disappointed to discover that an organisation isn’t telling the truth?

If so, you may be part of the Indigo generation that has now matured into adulthood. In recent years, we are seeing many of the Indigo generation stepping up and finding their power. Part of their life purpose is to bring truth to society. Edward Snowden is a great example of someone who is from the Indigo generation that feels compelled to speak the truth.

An Indigo person simply cannot lie.

The lightworkers arrived on the planet before the Indigos. In general, an Indigo child will have been born from 1978 onwards. However, it is thought that there are some people with an Indigo nature who arrived on this planet before then. In much the same way, some of the lightworkers arrived before the main lightworker movement began and were considered to be the pioneers of the New Age movement.

Being an Indigo person is not easy and it can often see you labelled as ‘difficult’ or a ‘troublemaker’. I am part of the Indigo generation and I like to ask questions. If a teacher or superior is explaining something to me that just doesn’t feel quite right then I have to question it and people don’t always like to be questioned! An Indigo person has a truth detector. If something is inauthentic then an Indigo will see straight through it!

An Indigo is an old soul and will often make friends with people who are older than them. They have reincarnated many times before and carry a great deal of wisdom. An Indigo does not connect with people based on number of years but rather through an awareness of life and the maturity that comes with experience.

Many Indigos struggle to maintain friendships and feel isolated within groups of people at school or work. As a result, they form close bonds with pets and other animals who are more soothing to their sensitive energy field. They feel much happier snuggled up with a family pet!

Indigos are often described as warriors as they are fighting to bring about change. Yet despite their fiery nature, they are highly sensitive and psychic. It is important for them to look after themselves and their energy field to avoid burning out.

What next?

You may be wondering about the new children arriving on the planet. After the Indigos came the crystal children. The crystal children are beginning to mature into young adults and they are experiencing this planet for the first time. They have no previous lives and see everything with fresh eyes.

Finally, the young children that are with us now are known as the rainbow children. I’m excited to see what personality traits and changes they will bring!

If you are an Indigo who can identify with any of these issues or if you have a crystal or rainbow child at home, I’d love to hear from you in the comments section below!
